Louisville Graphic Design Association officials have the kind of problem for 2010 that every professionals organization should have – too much work worthy of recognition.
This year’s LGDA 21st Annual 100 Show, the organizations’ best-of-Louisville award event, is January 7 at the Speed Art Museum. The show will have, for the first time, a bronze category in addition to a platinum and silver.
For 2010, LGDA had a larger number of entries than usual for both professional and student classes, said Kayla Mount, LGDA public relations director.
Judges this year for the awards all come from different disciplines, Mount said. “They voted on what they liked, but there were so many pieces they liked, we needed to create a new category.”
The judges “had some very different opinions of what should go into the show,” said Amber Glisson, LGDA vice president and the group’s incoming president.
